CHARACTER NAME: Merida
CHARACTER CANON: Brave

[OOC]

Slowtagging: Yes, as long as it's not a big plot point. If I need to get a response from your character, I will drop you a line, but I'm patient and understanding of time restraints.
Canon-puncturing: Please discuss with me before you do so.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): Please discuss with me to be sure. I'm laid back and Merida can be tactless, but I'd prefer to know what I'm stepping into.

[IC]

Merida will not hesitate to draw on your character, be it sword or bow. She's been training with both since she was four and she is a proficient fighter, especially for her size. You can make advances that are IC, but this princess is barely a lady by courtly standards. Merida will literally fight back anyone that crosses her personal lines.

Hugging this character: Only after a minimum of three interactions, and only if she considers your character and herself to be friends after that.
Kissing this character: Only on the cheek or forehead from particularly close friends and family, and only on the lips from Hiccup. Anyone else who dares will not leave unharmed if she can help it.
Flirting with this character: Yes, but also at your own risk. Merida can also be dense if your character is not obvious and she doesn't know their personal quirks yet.
Fighting with this character: See above.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Please discuss with me first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Open, but please discuss with me first if it's anything big and out of her personal canon.
Other forms of magic use on this character: Merida is not very fond of magic. Please discuss with me before proceeding.

[GODMODDING]
Hiccup gets some godmodding permissions in my absence, but otherwise, don't do it. If you want to handwave a small activity between her and your character, please contact me first for permission. If she is apparently absent and Hiccup is not present to explain it, assume she is visiting home.

The ride to the school fields on the island was a slightly lengthy one, ever since she had relocated to her hut near the northern shore. The jousting classes were a heaven-send. It wasn't that Merida exactly hated life on the island. On the contrary, she loved the freedom and all the new people it brought into her life. For bringing even the chance to possibly love someone. Something that the Scottish princess didn't think she would honestly try. Not this young still, at least.

But something was missing. Merida, for all that freedom, realized that she didn't know what exactly to do with it. The island, for the most part, had been explored by every inch. She wasn't sure law enforcement was the right thing for her, when so few laws were broken. And Merida was never one for rules. And the surprises on the island tended to be more supernatural mysteries than beasties or invasions to fight.

It was making her restless, living her life with all that freedom without something to really do with a purpose.

And it apparently made her surroundings restless as well. When she had looked up, Merida found herself in the middle of a hall room with a reception desk. It wasn't completely unlike the hotel entrance she had stayed in when the island had changed into a massive city, but this was by far grander.

And she was at the very center of it, seated on a pony in padded armor.

"Blast this magic..."

The mist easily reminded her of home, but Merida still treated it with caution as it spread, along with the whispers of what lay within. If it hadn't been for the fact that she enjoyed her life quite a bit, all things considered, she would have run right into the thick of it to see her family again.

As it was Merida found herself swallowed by it as it crept about the tree she had been napping under. The sun felt less oppressive in it's heat and the slight chill woke her. Instead of large white gardenias hanging overhead, the sight of ripening apples and shedding branches greeted her. Along with a green gown and familiar face, ready to scold her as she tried to sit up.

"Merida! You can't possibly be sleeping out in the open in your condition! Ye'll catch your deaths if there were no one here to look for you!"

She had expected to see her mum again were she to wander into the mist , but Merida was confused with what more she saw. She tried to shake off her sleepiness, registering the endless mountains and cliffs in the distance beyond her father's castle instead of huts and plains and dunes that gave way to beaches. She could hear the bustle of the kitchen staff, Maudie's voice ringing out over all of it, most likely at her brothers. Smell the decay of autumn leaves, traces of sheep that must have grazed not far from her resting spot, breads and pies baking from the direction of the castle kitchens. It was all too real. Was this the dream the island had for her, or was the island and all its inhabitants the true illusion?

Attempting to rise, Merida noticed another development. One in the vicinity of her swelling belly.

"Really, Merida," Elinor huffed. "I know you value your free time, but you can't carry on like a girl when you're going to be a mother."

She screamed.
